Project Jump Start
Project Jump Start is an intensive, 18-week, home-based personal financial literacy educational program taught by professional counselors at Consumer Credit Counseling and trained mentors. Families learn how to make their money work for them instead of working for their money.
Benefits of Project Jump Start:
- Guidance and support needed to break the cycle of poverty
- Acquire the skills needed to become self-sufficient and improve quality of life
- Release of overall stress that can lead to serious health issues
Participating families will:
- Meet one-on-one with a professional counselor at Consumer Credit Counseling, who will help develop a money management plan
- Receive ongoing support from a mentor and case manager to help achieve goals
Eligible families are those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, and meet poverty guideline requirements. Families must also have a source of income and be willing to make significant lifestyle changes.
Participants in Project Jump Start receiveā¦
- An incentive used to pay off debt/bills at a half-way point, and a second incentive to pay off debt or open a savings account upon completion
- A calculator and savings piggy bank
- Assistance towards making a lasting life change, with the tools to budget and make positive financial change
