Jump Start

Project Jump Start provides families with the tools necessary to break the cycle of poverty.  This program is an intensive three-month home-based financial literacy education program taught by a CPA and mentors.

Poverty: A serious lack of means for a proper existence.

With 1 out of 10 residents in the Sioux Empire at or below the officially recognized poverty level, chances are you or someone you know are in need of a financial jumpstart.  The Community Outreach wants to help break the cycle of poverty through the Jump Start Program.

What is the Jump Start Program?

An intensive three month home-based financial literacy educational program taught by a CPA and mentors.

How does the Jump Start Program work?

Participants will meet individually with a professional CPA who will develop a personal money management plan for participants.   Mentor will follow up and offer guidance and support throughout the three months.

Why would anyone want to participate in this program?

Participants will learn how to make their money work for them instead of working for their money.   This will reduce their stress and improve the quality of their life.  They will have the opportunity to earn rental incentives if they are actively working the program.

Who is eligible for this program?

Anyone who is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless and is at or below the poverty guidelines.  Participants must have a source of income and be willing to make significant lifestyle changes.
