HOW WE HELP

Each year, South Dakota conducts a one-day homelessness count. In January 2025, 614 people were identified as homeless in Sioux Falls. 98 of those individuals were children. The Sioux Falls School District reports approximately 38% of its students are enrolled in the free or reduced lunch program. This represents just a small number of low-income families in the Sioux Empire.

When we can keep families together in a stable housing situation, we can keep children in school without interruption. We can save families hundreds of dollars in moving and deposit expenses and prevent stress and employment problems from constantly moving.

The Helpline Center (211) reports housing was the highest need in Sioux Falls in 2024. While utility assistance and transportation were the fourth and fifth highest needs. Many people need help getting to and from work. We offer transportation assistance by providing 30-day bus passes, gas vouchers, and assisting families with repair costs for their vehicles.

We focus on housing, utilities, work-related transportation, information, referrals, and mentoring. Our mission is to come alongside everyone to “share hope and provide tools for daily living.”

Thank you for partnering with us to help others achieve and maintain self-sufficiency in our community!
